Disney Part 2

Cinderella's Castle. It was soooooo beautiful! I was watching a special about Disney World on TV the other night and they said they dye the lights to match the castle so during the day time you can't see all the lights hanging from it unless you look really close. It changed colors too! It is in the Magic Kingdom of course, I think that MK was my favorite park. Everything in Disney was so clean and so pretty at night with all of the xmas lights!

Every hotel at Disney World had its own Christmas tree, here is the one at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Tony, Brandon and Savannah.

They boys had their room, and the girls had theirs. Here are the boys in their room, missing from the picture is daddy.

Arriving at EPCOT

The first night were were there we had dinner in Mexico, which is in EPCOT. We ate at the San Angel Inn. It is modeled after a hacienda that dates back to 1692. Dinner was very good but service was slow, but it was a Friday when we got there and very busy!

Here is Savannah and Brandon at dinner.

Before dinner we rode Test Track, our first ride in Disney. It was alot of fun, it went very fast! LOL!

More to come later! Thanks for stopping by. If you are reading my blog for the first time make sure you say hi!

I'm back!

Remember when I said I had something I needed to do? Well, we went to Disney World! My sister paid for everything! We only had to have money for souviners, and for extra snacks. Her package included 7 nights (a room for the boys, and a room for the girls) at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was a savanna view on the second floor and it was awesome! Every morning we had coffee while watching the zebras, giraffes and other wildlife.

Here is Savannah enjoying the view.

The package also included a fast service meal which you could use for breakfast or lunch, a snack, and dinner which included an appetizer for each person, entree and dessert with beverage. We ate like kings! The food is soooo good too!

Brandon can't wait to dig in! This was dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.

another view from the balcony of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The kids were so excited to fly! Savannah was scared the first time but then on the way back home she was fine. Didn't need me to hold her hand.

Arriving in Orlando and waiting for the Disney Express to take us and our luggage to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!
Will post more later!

Plate It & Post It

I found out about Plate it and Post it from Amy's site and thought that I have the perfect recipe for it! This is a Weight Watcher's receipe that I absolutely love!

Spicy Indian-Style Chicken Kebabs (I don't think its very spicy at all)

Hands on prep: 20 minutes

Cook: 12 minutes

Serves: 4

3/4 cup plain fat free yogurt

1 1/2 tsp

2 garlic cloves, peeled and halved

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne

3 Tablespoons chopped cilantro

1 pound skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut into 24 cubes

1 yellow or orange bell pepper, seeded and cut into 24 squares

1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 24 squares

1 green pepper, seeded and cut into 24 squares

1/2 tsp salt

1. Combine the yogurt, coriander, garlic, paprika, cayenne, and 2 Tablespoons of the cilantro in zip close plastic bag; add the chicken. Squeeze out the air and seal the bag; refrigerate, turning the bag occasionally, 20-30 minutes or up to 1 day.

2. Remove the chicken from the bag and discard the marinade. Using 8 metal skewers, thread the chicken and bell peppers onto the skewers using 3 cubes of chicken and 9 squares of pepper for each skewer. Sprinkle evenly with the salt.

3. Spray the broiler rack with nonstick spray; preheat the broiler. Place the skewers on the rack and broil 5 inches from the heat, turning frequently, until the chicken is cooked through, about 12 minutes. Sprinkle the skewers with the remaining 1 Tablespoon cilantro.

2 skewers per serving

Thanksgiving tradition.

Well, we have a pretty neat (actually pretty darn awesome) tradition in our house where my HUBBY does all the cooking!! Whoooohooooo! I still bake some pies but he does everything else, from making the turkey, green bean salad, marshmallow salad, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, everything under the sun, he makes it!! And it is so darn good! I will gladly clean up the kitchen if he does the cooking, no problems! This year tho we are tight on cash, so instead of having a huge Thanksgiving dinner I was thinking I would look into volunteering at the Union Mission. I will have to call them and see what the deal is. After all, its just Rob and I with 3 kids.. why do we need all that food? And my scale wants to know that same exact question! LOL!

Win a Toshiba DVD Player!

Amy over at in Pursuit of Proverbs 31 is hosting a giveaway, just in time for the holidays! Good luck!!

First Lapbook

Savannah finished her very first lapbook. It was on Lewis and Clark. We were very happy with the way it turned out. There are a few things that would do differently next time, like use double sided tape instead of glue though. It is kind of time consuming but a good way to learn a subject.

open, with all the little goodies inside.

Nothing like homeschooling in the jammies! LOL!

She made a little picture puzzle.

I thought she did a cute job drawing her little deer.

Lewis had a Newfoundland. How cute was he? LOL! It is cold here tonight. I was wishing we had a fireplace! I guess a hot cup of tea will have to do! bye for now!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip!

On Friday we went on a home school field trip with a bunch of fellow home schoolers. We went to the local pumpkin patch. We were expecting a nice breezy, cool fall day but instead got 84 degree weather! Hot and humid!! Ugg.. oh well we are used to it around here.

First we went on a hayride, then back to the common area to pet the animals.

Goats always make me nervous, they have the wierdest eyes!

My daughter tried to catch a chicken, but they were a little to fast for her. After scrubbing our hands with anti-bacterial gel to back sure we didn't succumb to any nasty e-coli we headed off to the pumpkin patch.
There we met up with Willow, she was so cute my daughter wanted to take her home and keep her in the back yard. For some reason Blogger is being a butt and won't let me upload the image of Sass and the horse, as a matter of fact it won't let me upload any pics now.. Hmm.. oh well. I will load more later, an entry with just pictures!!

Wordless Wednesday

WFMW!!!!

I am so excited to participate in WFMW! This is my first time. Okay! This works for me.. My hubby and I used this when we had babies, now that we are foster parents we continue to do this. You know how babies make a huge mess when eating right? Well, I bought one of the foaming soap dispensers and add baby bath to it. So, when the baby is done eating I just squirt a little of the soap right on their high chair and let them play in it while I get a little baby washcloth, wet it, and wipe them and the high chair up. It works incredibly well and you don't have to worry about getting soap in their little eyes, but yet they get very clean!

Balloon release!

The kids thought it would be fun to get some helium balloons together, attach a note and realease them. I put my email address in the note, I can't wait to see if someone finds them!
Release time!!!
There they go!
Todays weather was so awesome. Its still in the high 70's. Has anyone ever let balloons go with a note or something similar?

Field Trip

My hubby and Brandon had the opportunity to go on the USS George Washington with a neighbor for Friend and Family day. They had an awesome time! Some facts about the USS George Washington.
*It is a nuclear powered supercarrier
*It is 1,092 feet long and as tall as a 24 story building
*it can accommodate approximately 80 aircraft and has a flight deck 4.5 acres in size, using four elevators that are 3,880 ft each to move planes between the flight deck and the hangar bay.
*I obtained all this info at ask.com, check it for out for more cool fact.

Now for some pics and a video.

On the deck

Lots of stairs!

A table set for our MIA and POW

Isn't that incredible! They had a front row seat. My hubby said they also demonstrated breaking the speed of sound a couple of times. He said he chest just thumped with the incredible roar. Awesome!

Recovering...

I am recovering from surgery. Who knew out patient surgery could hurt so much?! haha.. I have been taking my percoset which helps alot, but I think it has been making me dream. I have had the most vivid dreams the past few days. I am still sleeping alot. Hubby went back to work today and I napped when the baby napped. I know I haven't mentioned it here but I have a one year old foster daughter. She is going to be going to live with her daddy soon. She is an absolute sweetheart, such a good baby, we have completly fallen for her. We just pray that her daddy and his wife will cherish her as much as we have. We have had her only 2 1/2 months but it seems like she has always been a part of the family. Anyway.. I am trying to recover. I went to Target today on the way there I was pretty light headed, plus it was so incredibly hot out which didn't help. I felt better once inside and cooling down. Okay.. I am going to go relax and let this percoset kick in.. bye!!!
